When there is a need to change your MySQL root password, then you can do this via WHM.
First, you need to be logged in to the WHM.
From the search bar on the top left of the screen, just type in mysql.
You will then see the “MySQL Root Password” option on the left pane. Click on it and the screen for MySQL Root Password will show up. You may now type in your preferred new password and just click on the Change Password button to proceed and save the new password.
You may also create a system generated password by clicking on the “Password Generator” and a small window will show up containing the system generated password.
To regenerate a new password just click on the Generate Password again.
Also, you can choose the criteria you wish to be used for the password to be generated.
Once you have chosen your preferred password from the Password Generator, just tick the box for “I have copied this password in a safe place.” and the button “Use Password” will be enabled.
Click on the “Use Password” button and the system will automatically populate the password on the empty fields for your password. Then just click “Change Password” when finished.
