In this article, we will show you some steps to prevent your emails from getting to your recipient’s SPAM Folder. Here are the tools that you may need to use:

**Email Authentication**

DKIM and SPF
The DKIM (Domain Keys Identified Email) and SPF (Sender Policy Framework) authentication helps verify the emails if they comes from a trusted sender.
DKIM is a validating system that detects email spoofing. This system allows your mail server to validate if the domain’s administrators authorized emails from your domain. The email messages includes a digital signature that the mail server uses to verify the sender’s public key in their DNS Records.

SPF uses the DNS Records to prevent email spoofing. It detects the sender’s domain for any modification on the email’s header.

DMARC
DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) helps to lessen the potentials of email-based abuse. This DMARC policy uses DNS to authenticate an email message that uses a valid DKIM and SPF Record and the headers matches those records.

**Setup your server’s PTR Record**
The PTR Records resolves your server’s IP address to a domain name. It is similar to an A Record. Setup your PTR Record for your server’s IP address to use the hostname of your server. If you are using a different IP address for your EXIM, ensure you setup the PTR Record for that IP address to use the hostname of your server.

A Record shows this as an example:

root@server$: dig mx.example.com +short
192.168.1.1
PTR Record shows this as an example:

root@server$: dig -x 192.168.1.1 +short
mx.example.com
