When you backed up or exported a database into an SQL file, you can import it into your other hosting accounts MySQL database via phpMyAdmin. To start, you need to make sure you have your SQL, .zip or tar.gz file and you have created a new database (How to create a new database) where you will import the MySQL database into.

First login to your cPanel account. (Don’t know how to login to your cPanel account? Click here)

You will be redirected to the phpMyAdmin page where you will see your databases on the left part of the screen. Click on the new database you created where you will import the existing SQL file.

Click on the “Import” button on the top then you will see the import page for you to import the SQL file.

Choose the SQL file you wanted to import to the new database.

Once done, you’ll see the file to be imported indicated beside the “Choose File” button. Just click on “Go” button when you are ready to upload the file.

After the file has been imported, a message will show up saying that the import process is successful.
